I’m Gabrielle (Gabby) Sulzbach Pickover - educator, advocate, and neighbor - and I’m running for the Spotsylvania County School Board - Lee Hill district.

I’ve spent nearly 20 years as a special education teacher, hold a master’s in educational administration, and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Special Education and Disability Policy. I’ve dedicated my career to improving the lives of students and supporting teachers. I’m ready to bring that same commitment to our school board.

Though I don’t have children of my own, I consider every student I’ve taught and every niece, nephew, and godchild in my life as mine to look after.

I believe in leading with care, respect, and responsibility - the same values my father, a former teacher and principal, instilled in me. He once told me about a sign his college advisor kept above his desk: a simple index card with the word “child” circled on it - a reminder always to do what’s in the best interest of children. That philosophy has guided every decision I’ve made in education, and it will guide me on the school board.

I’ve called Fredericksburg home for nearly 25 years, and I love this community deeply. I’m running because it’s time to cut through the noise and blame and get back to working together, with respect, integrity, and a focus on what matters most: our kids.

As your neighbor, I’m here to listen.

As your advocate, I’m here to speak up.

As an educator, I’m here to serve.

If you believe, like my dad did (and I do), that every decision should center on the best interest of the child, please vote for me on November 4 for Spotsylvania School Board - Lee Hill.

Thank you!
